Statement by Twentieth Century Fox

"It has been brought to our attention that a line of dialogue in How Stella Got Her Groove Back was found to be insensitive and troubling to many people in the Haitian community.  Although the line was true to the character, we do understand the insensitivity of her remark and apologize for any distress it has caused."

Twentieth Century Fox has also indicated to NCHR that the offensive line will be removed from the home video and international versions of the film.
